Community Chest for the Emergenetics Impact SG50 Initiative

The Relations & Engagement Manager of Community Chest wrote,“The course gives a refreshing insight on my own thinking preference and also of my other colleagues. We had a fun time learning about how each of us ranked compared to the others regarding our behaviours on expressiveness, flexibility and assertiveness.”

The workshop of 30 participants, led by Regina Chua from DD Consulting, pulsated with positive energy in this interactive session where they learnt about the brain preferences – and its impact on how they behave and think, even extending to how they can better leverage their strengths as a team.

The teams used a myriad of activities to understand the impact of their preferences in terms of their self-awareness and strengths based approach to value their gifts.

The profiles, when distributed in their teams, provided an opportunity to reflect not only on one’s profile but the members also shared and understood the preferences of their teammates. It was impressive to see how open the participants were to share their profiles within their teams. Diversity was indeed a powerful and empowering gift that the group had and laughter and affirmation filled the room as they shared their profiles.

Beyond understanding that each of us are unique, participants also discussed possible options to view contrasting profiles and see that being agile in relationships is a key to bringing the best out of a differences.

As one participant aptly said, “Diversity makes a perfect team – they complement and support each other like the perfect team!”. Other participants also commented, The course gives a refreshing insight on my own thinking preference and also of my other colleagues.”“Our team seems to have a good balance of the different thinking and behavioural profiles; so when we work together, it is like the whole brain and body is complementing to full potential.”

For DD Consulting, they believe that the session provided an eye-opener that no one is as smart as all of us together, the Emergenetics WE team.
